Corrosive Challenge December Sketch

This month we're changing things up a little at The Corrosive Challenge.  We will be holding a design team call all month long! So if you think you might be interested in joining the team set aside a little time to apply.  Our awesome team member KATHY provided a sketch for everyone to play along with, and it is an awesome one!  This one definitely challenged me, but the end result was satisfying.

I started with an image from Tickled Pink Stamps I have had for a long time now.  Unfortunately I think the company has closed now.

She is colored with Copics with some icicle Stickles added to her coat and boots, I cut her out with an oval die, and flipped the sketch to accomodate the image.  Everything is popped up with foam dots to give it some dimension.
I really wanted the snowflake border (Tim Holtz "Snow Flurries" On the Edge Die) to stick out so I moved it closer to the edge of the card, and also placed on on the inside of the card.

Papers:  Stash and g.c.d. Studios "Sophisticated Frost" 12X12 pad.
Embellies:  K & Co "Snowflakes" sticker medley, Hemptique "Metallic Classic" twine.

I know there is some amazing talent out there, from seeing everyone's entries throughout the year, so I look forward to seeing your design team entries!

Hoping everyone has a magical, warm, wonderful Holiday Season!

Dilly Beans Traditional Christmas Colors Challenge

Hi there folks.  I know I've been a bit quiet lately.  Just haven't been feeling inspired or crafty lately, even though I have many many Christmas cards to make.  I just haven't been much in the mood, but I finally found enough mojo to complete a card for my Stepbrother and his wife who live in Los Angeles.  I have to get theirs done early so I can get it shipped off in time.

I almost always end up feeling inspired when I use a Dilly Beans image, and this was no exception.  I just adore Holly Girl, and plan on making a few more Holiday cards with her.  And it was perfect luck that the current challenge at Dilly Beans Challenge was Traditional Christmas Colors.  Hooray!
She is colored with Copics, with glossy accents added to the holly berries.  I stayed pretty true to the sketch, other than adding a coordinating ribbon.  I added some W.O.C. roses, and green rhinestones from stash.  Papers were from 2 different 12X12 pads.

Sketch #234 at Sketch Saturday

Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm hoping little by little my creativity will come back, because the cards aren't going to make themselves!  LOL.
